What is OMR?
Optical Mark Reading (OMR) is used by folder / inserter machines to determine how a document is to be handled by the inserting system. An OMR device reads a simple mark (usually a dash) in a set position on a piece of paper. It uses the presence or absence of the mark to make a decision about how to handle the document.
OMR can be used on the larger desk top folders and inserters to decide which inserts go in particular envelopes.
